Brand & behaviour studio, UAE and wider MENA

We engineer how brands are felt. Most branding decorates. We treat it as a discipline: observe, isolate, test, then build. The work starts by watching how a brand actually behaves.

Taking work for Q4 2026

We run a small number of engagements at a time, on purpose.

[The People]

Two people. The ones in the first conversation are the ones on the work.

VJ Amal, Co-founder and Managing Director

VJ Amal

Co-founder & Managing Director

Him. Yes, we know how that reads. VJ is the co-founder who does the watching: cafés, hotel lobbies, checkout queues, the ten quiet seconds where somebody decides your place isn't for them and walks back out. He notices it. He always notices it. He is a genuinely alarming person to go shopping with. He leads positioning, digital strategy and cultural branding, and the studio's order of operations exists because he was doing the first two weeks of it unpaid, for years, before anyone thought to call it a method.

Saikiran VS Nambiar, Co-founder and Creative Director

Saikiran VS Nambiar

Co-founder & Creative Director

A Computer Science Engineer who chose to follow his passion for creativity, Saikiran brings over 11 years of experience in content, marketing, advertising and high-end production. Having worked with brands and creative projects internationally, he combines storytelling, strategy and strong visuals to create work that connects with people and brings ideas to life.

[The Premise]

Most branding fails quietly. Not because it is ugly, but because it was decided before anything was observed.

A studio is briefed. A mood board appears within the week. Somewhere in between, decisions get made about what a brand means. Decisions nobody tested.

The result looks considered and behaves generically. We think the problem is the order of operations.

Observation before aesthetics

The first two weeks produce nothing you can look at. We watch how the brand behaves now. Everything after has evidence behind it.

One specific thing

A brand that is for everyone is felt by no one. We find the single thing it is for, and the single person it is for.

2026

Founded. Our first year, and we say so.

2 weeks

Observing before a single design decision.

7

Disciplines in-house. Nothing outsourced.

2 days

[02]Lab Sessions

A process that produces findings, not surprises.

  1. [01]1–2 wks

    Observe

We watch before we ask. No recommendations in this phase, only notes.

  2. [02]1 wk

    Isolate

One pattern, pulled from everything we noticed. Everything after points at it.

  3. [03]2 wks

    Hypothesise

Positioning written as a claim, specific enough to be wrong.

  4. [04]4–8 wks

    Build

Made in sprints, reviewed together. You see the work weekly, not at a reveal.

  5. [05]Ongoing

    Release & Read

A launch is a measurement, not an ending.

[03]The Lab Report

Every engagement ends with a written report.

Not a deck to sit through. A document you keep, that says what we found, what we did about it, and what changed, including the parts that did not work.

  1. [01]

    Brief

What you asked for, written back to you. Often not the problem we end up solving.

  2. [02]

    Insight

The specific gap between how the brand is felt and how it should be. The part worth paying for.

  3. [03]

    Strategy

The claim we are making, written so it could be argued with.

  4. [04]

    System

Identity, language and behaviour built to hold up as the business changes.

  5. [05]

    Outputs

Everything produced, with the guidelines to keep using it after we have gone.

  6. [06]

    Impact

What changed against what we predicted. Published even when it is uncomfortable.

What goes in a report

The first reports publish as engagements complete.

[04]Engagement Models

Three ways in. Start with the smallest.

We price per engagement rather than per deliverable, because the scope of the thinking is what varies. You will have a number before you commit to anything, and it will not move afterwards.

[05]Answers

Everything else you are wondering.

[01]What does 'behaviour' actually mean here?

How people act around your brand, not what they say about it in a survey. Where they hesitate, what they skip, what they repeat, what they tell a friend. We design against that rather than against a mood board.

[02]You are new. Why should we take the risk?

Because the method does not depend on our back catalogue. Start with an audit. It is scoped, it is small, and it ends with written findings you own whether or not you continue with us. If the thinking is not worth more than it cost, that is a cheap way to find out.

[03]Do you work with brands outside the UAE?

Yes. We are based in Dubai and most of our attention is on the UAE and wider MENA, but the method travels. Observation works remotely; it just takes more deliberate setup.

[04]How long does a Lab Session take?

We plan to eight to fourteen weeks end to end, depending on scope. Audits are shorter. We will give you the honest number before you commit rather than the one that wins the work.

[05]Can we start with just a logo?

You can, but we would rather you did not. A mark made before anything has been observed is a guess with an invoice attached. If budget is the constraint, start with the audit. It costs less, and it tells you what the logo should be doing.

[06]Who actually does the work?

We do. The people in the first conversation are the people on the project, and nothing is outsourced. We keep the studio small so that stays true as we grow.

[07]How many revisions do we get?

We work in sprints with review built into each one, so revision is the process rather than a limited allowance. In practice the count rarely comes up, because you are never seeing the work for the first time at the end.

[08]What do you need from us?

Access and honesty. Time with your team, your numbers, and your customers. The work is only as specific as what you let us see. A brand audit run at arm's length produces arm's-length findings.

Something we have not answered?

Ask it directly. We answer everything ourselves, and we reply within two working days whether or not it turns into work.
